Our Story

Black Sports Moms was founded in March 2025 after a divine connection between founders Andrea Odom and Lachauna Edwards.

Lachauna had long been educating and advising families in the areas of NIL, contracts, and athlete branding. In February 2025, she launched a Momager Series on Instagram for Black History Month highlighting Blacks moms who were managing their child’s athletic careers behind the scenes. Andrea was nominated by a friend as someone who deserved to be featured.

That introduction sparked a conversation and an collab post highlighting Andrea’s journey as a Baseball Mom for her son and MLB Player Dylan Campbell. After the series ended, Andrea noticed the number of comments encouraging Lachauna to continue the movement of empowering momagers so she reached out and asked a simple but pivotal question:

“Have you ever thought about doing a conference?”

Lachauna responded, “It’s always been a dream.”

From there, the two began planning what would soon become “Black Sports Moms.” The most remarkable part? They hadn’t even met in person. Though they were in similar spaces from Jack and Jill to the Black Baseball Moms Facebook group, the two didn’t meet face-to-face until May 2025, months after tickets to their very first event had already sold out.

Their story is a testament to the power of obedience, vision, and divine partnership and what can happen when you say yes to something bigger than yourself.
